THE CITY OF QUALITY LIFE
  Located along the coast of southeastern China, Hangzhou City covers an area of 16,596 sq.km. in total with the population of 6.7 million, serves as the capital of Zhejiang Province, is a central metropolis on the south wing of the Yangtze River Delta, a well-known historical and cultural city and the best commercial and tourism city of China. Hangzhou is a dynamic economic powerhouse. In 2007 its GDP broke RMB 400 billion Yuan and for years its aggregated economic output has ranked second among the provincial capitals across the nation. In 2007, GDP per capita of Hangzhou reached USD 8,000. With the rapid development of service industry in Hangzhou, the resident’s consumption has been undergoing a qualitative change: more and more people choose diverse lifestyles such as tourism, vocation, entertainment and shopping etc. in their spare time from work. As a result, the third industry including tourism, vocation, leisure shopping and leisure service has got greatly rapid development. In line with its own city development characteristics, Hangzhou Municipal Government has set up the target to build a “City of Qualify Life” which is the most typical, distinguished and special city brand of Hangzhou.
